The first lessons will be devoted to a revision however, or to a first introduction, commensurate to the type of preparation possessed by the frequenting ones, that it will drive to the use of the linguistic tools dictionaries, grammars, histories of the language ; it will follow a short treatment of the structures of Italian in the today and in the historical development.

We will also give relief to the geographical aspect of the language and the Italian literature, with the essential description of the ancient and the modern dialects; then on the most important moments in the historical development of Italian, at first with general introductions, but above all through the analysis of texts, not only literary. Readings will be proposed therefore, potentially in chronological sequence, starting from the medieval productions that document the formation of the language, its relationships with the Latin, then with the foreign languages of prestige, and above all with the dialects of the single regions.

This not only has the purpose to put the student in front of concrete linguistic realizations, but also to sharpen the abilities of reading and linguistic judgment of it. The frequenting ones will be kept to the preparation of two books, the not frequenting of three, to choose among those bottom pointed out.
