This cantata sets Psalm Buxtehude scored the work for solo viola da gamba, alto, and continuo. It is one of the most frequently performed of Buxtehude 's cantatas, and is rather interesting due to its unusual instrumentation. The viola da gamba part is every bit as compelling as the alto part, and is probably more technically challenging.
